My F.A.Q.s for Traditional Work
If you have general questions about Copic Markers themselves - please refer to the official website: Copicmarker.com
Before continuing, please note, I do not work for Copic Markers USA. I only use copics for my a side hobby of coloring.Which type of copic markers do you use?
I currently use Copic ciao markers and sketch markers. Did you receive these as gifts or bought them?
I bought them. Most of them I bought on amazon.com (in sets of 72) but then one day, Copicmarkers.com
an authorized dealer had a sale for all
the available markers (at the time) in a set so I bought it. I was tired of buying markers in sets and wanted a good deal on whole bulk. I will resell the duplicates later.So- do you have all 358 markers?
I used to ;_; I had to sell a majority..When you bought them in the set of 334, how much did it cost?
I bought them from copicmarkers.com
and it was $1,700. I love that website. They gave me so many marker pads, extra lining markers, etc for free with my large purchase. Why did you purchase the sketch markers over the other types?
There's more range of color and I also have the airbrushing system (that I never use .__.)For traditional sketches (before lining), what do you use?
I use a typical mechanical pencil with .7mm lead and a kneaded eraser
.What do you use to line your art work when you draw traditionally?Copic Multiliners
in various sizes. However, I typically create my line art in Paint Tool Sai.When you create line art digitally in Paint Tool Sai, what printer are you using to print the final line art?
I'm using a HP Photosmart All in One printer C6280
.What kind of paper do you use?
I just go into a local crafts/office supply store and buy bright white original card stock (acid free). I like to color using thicker paper while others might prefer thin ones. What do you use to create the white lines and high lights of your work?
I use a white Sakura Gelly Roll
gel pen. I use other colors that belong to that brand. They work well and are very smooth. How do you preserve your copic works?
I buy sheet protectors
and store them in them, in a binder, in a dark cool place away from sunlight.I see you edit your work in Photoshop often, what are you doing to brighten the colors?
I play around the Levels and sometimes add effects (glows, backgrounds) in Photoshop. I also will use stock images once in a while for a background - always giving credit to the original artist for the stock photo! Why do you prefer copic markers over other brands?
